HELP PASS THE PEOPLE'S RESPONSE ACT!

What is the People's Response Act?

Reintroduced by U.S. Representative Cori Bush, the People’s Response Act adopts a holistic, health-centered approach to safety by expanding solutions to harm and safety that our communities have long been championing and investing in systems of care that are rooted in improving the well-being of all people.

The Peoples Response Act would establish a Division of Community Safety at the Department of Health and Human Services to support non-carceral approaches to public safety, as well as grant programs for state and local governments and community-based organizations to fund community-led, non-carceral approaches to public safety. Programs and services that Black people actually need to be safe like mental health resources, violence interruption, housing, youth programs, treatment, and so much more.
